The short version
These terms are a legal agreement between you and Telotek Ltd. Here are the key points:
- Plutus is a personal finance tool — not a financial advisor. We don't provide financial advice.
- You own your data. We provide tools to export or delete it at any time.
- Payments are handled by Paddle. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
- You must be at least 18 to use Plutus and are responsible for your account security.
1. About Plutus
Plutus is a personal finance and budgeting application provided by Telotek Ltd ("Telotek", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.
The Service includes the Plutus web application at plutusfinance.app, along with any associated content, features, and functionality (collectively, the "Service").
2. Accepting These Terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms of Service and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.
These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
3. Your Account
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Plutus. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and any two-factor authentication methods. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to disable any account at any time if, in our opinion, you have violated any provision of these terms.
Account Information
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts where information provided is inaccurate or incomplete.
4. The Service
Plutus is a personal finance management tool that allows you to:
- Track income, expenses, and account balances
- Create and manage budgets
- Categorise transactions manually or via bank connections
- View financial insights and reports
- Share financial data with household members
The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time. Where we make material changes that adversely affect you, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Free Trial
We may offer a free trial period when you first sign up for Plutus. The length and terms of the trial will be communicated to you at the time of registration. During the trial, you will have full access to the Service. If you do not purchase a subscription before the trial expires, your access to paid features will end.
Subscription Plans
After the trial period, continued access to Plutus requires a paid subscription. We offer monthly and annual subscription plans. Current pricing is available on our pricing page.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment processing, tax calculation, and invoicing on our behalf. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle's terms of service. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Automatic Renewal
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription price at renewal. We will notify you before any price increase takes effect.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. We do not typically offer refunds for the remaining portion of a billing period.
Cooling-Off Period
If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA, you may have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase under applicable consumer protection law, provided you have not yet used the Service. By agreeing to these terms and accessing the Service immediately after purchase, you acknowledge that you may lose this cooling-off right once you begin using the Service.
6. Bank Connections
Plutus offers optional bank account connections through Plaid. If you choose to connect a bank account:
- You authorise Plaid to access your bank account data on your behalf
- Your banking credentials are provided directly to Plaid — Plutus never sees or stores them
- Plaid provides us with read-only access to your account balances and transaction data
- You can disconnect a linked account at any time
By using bank connections, you agree to Plaid's privacy policy and end user services agreement.
Bank connections are optional. You can use Plutus entirely through manual data entry without connecting any bank accounts.
We are not responsible for the accuracy or timeliness of data retrieved from third-party financial institutions via Plaid. Financial data displayed through bank connections may not reflect your most recent transactions or balances.
7. Households & Shared Access
Plutus allows you to create or join a household to share financial data with other members.
- If you create a household, you are the owner and are responsible for managing its members
- All members of a household can view shared budgets, transactions, and categories
- Your personal account details (such as your email or password) are never shared with other members
- You can leave a household at any time
By inviting others to your household, you acknowledge that they will have access to the shared financial data within it.
8. Your Data
You retain ownership of all financial data and content you enter into Plutus. We do not claim any ownership rights over your data.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and any household members you choose to share it with.
You may export your data or request deletion of your account at any time. For more details on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using the Service.
The latest version of these terms will always be available on this page.
